About Us
We’re Kim and Nolan, and we’re passionate about cycling, coffee, and the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Our obsession with two wheels started on a stationary bike and quickly grew, taking us outdoors to explore gravel roads around Hammondsport and Keuka Lake.
We’ve logged thousands of miles together in the Finger Lakes, and today we travel around the world to explore new roads and taste café delights (coffee, cakes, beer, and sandwiches) by bike. We live on Keuka Lake with our Australian Shepherd, Schuyler, and our n+1 bicycles.
What is this place?
Coming to Hammondsport – the base of Keuka Lake – in the spring of 2025, Service Station FLX will be a bike-friendly, craft coffee, neighborhood café that serves as a starting point and destination for cyclists on Keuka Lake. This neighborhood gathering spot will sell coffee, sandwiches, and other goods such as spare bike tubes and grab-n-go snacks.
In the future we would like to serve local wines and beer as well as locally made crafts.
Why are you starting Service Station FLX?
We love bikes, we love coffee, and we love to travel.
When we first started taking biking trips in Europe, we noticed something: Europeans know how to kick back with friends and enjoy a cappuccino. And European cyclists especially know the right spots to stop for a bite to eat and an espresso while on their long bike rides.
We want to bring this sense of camaraderie and community here to the Finger Lakes, which we believe is one of the most beautiful places in the United States to enjoy on a bicycle.
